Pac-Tac version 2 is an independently re-done hack to Computerware's original Pac-Tac from 1981. It's author, Larry Bank, who was only a teenager at the time, re-did the graphics to use the 256x192 4 color (with artifcting) mode, instead of the semigraphics-24 mode (64x192x8) that the original used. It was never intended for commercial release, and was leaked out by accident. Larry went on to do education games for Sunburst Communications for both the Coco and the Apple II a year or two later; this included The Pond.
Oh, just in case you didn't figure it out, Pac-Tac version 2 is a clone of the arcade hit Pac-Man, but with a more complicated maze, more energizers, and one less ghost.
