Star-Fighter is an Extended BASIC (with 5 ML subroutines) that is kind of a poor man's Star Raiders (or Project Nebula). The player uses the joystick to steer through the current sector that they are in to shoot alien ships (who are firing back). Each hit the player takes lowers their ships energy; the game is over once the energy level drops to 0. Like the aforementioned games, the game includes a star map which shows how many enemies are in each sector, and the player can warp to them once the current sector has been cleared out. The player can still get attacked while looking at the map, so it's in real time.
The aliens increase in size as they get closer to the player, and the starfield moves kind of in a 3-D perspective way. The screen flashes as a warp effect. Because of the ML subroutines, the game plays at a pretty decent clip.
