Oxxo is a text based version of the popular board game Othello. I am not sure if this was written by the company's owner Peter Stark himself or not, but I do know that the company Star Kits has been around longer than the Coco itself, usually doing utility software. This version I believe may have come from an earlier 6809 (or even 6800) version, and runs completely in a text mode (and thus terminal friendly for things like the Flex operating system). It is written in machine language and thus is quite fast for the computer play. It has 9 skill levels, choice of who goes first, and the option for the computer to use it's best strategy. Since it looks like it was designed for a terminal, there is no joystick option; you enter the row and column to put your piece (if you look at the screen shots above, it looks like you will need to enter in ROW comma COLUMN; the game actually handles the comma internally, so you just tap a single key for the row and another for the column to enter your move.
As with the board game, there are times that either the computer or the player (or both) can not make a legal move; the game allows a player or the computer to forfeit their turn if no move can be made, and knows to end the game if neither play can make a legal move.
