Fire Runner is an original arcade game where you have to dodge fire (in the forms of fireballs flying through the air at you, as well as firepits on the ground). You can slow down and speed up, lower and raise your shield (to block fireballs at different levels), and jump (to get over firepits). You have to watch your temperature gauge (which goes up every time you get in contact with fire). There are also occasional water buckets you can run through to cool off (you also, very slowly, cool off if you don't come into contact with fire at all). The game starts with just fireballs, then just firepits, and then combines both. It then starts adding longer and longer chains of firepits, so you have to be running fast just to get over them. Cool little game, especially for a tape magazine release.
