Fighter Pilot is based on the arcade smash 1942, but minus the aircraft carriers between levels, and without the ability to flip your plane over as a dodge tactic. There is also no special bonuses to pick up to get better gunnery. On the other hand, there are multiple types of planes to shoot, and the large ones (see screenshots above) will require more than 1 hit to shoot down. Also, like the arcade, Fighter Pilot give you stats between waves, including you're shooting percentage.
This is one of the few later Coco 1/2 games that purposely did not use artifacted colors; it would make a good port to the Dragon.
