The Dungeons of Despair is a graphical BASIC maze escape game, dressed up with a Dungeons & Dragons feel (and some extra commands to that effect). Using the arrow keys (with key repeat, which BASIC normally doesn't support), you have to navigate a large maze that you can only see your immediate surrounding area (3x3). There are various monsters, keys to get, doors to open, traps, weapons to get, etc. The game well presented, although a little slow. I am not sure who the author is; I do know that Greg Zumwalt, who authored many machine language games for Tandy, sometimes used "Snail"e; for anonymous programs (or software "company"), but I don't know if he did this one... or when it was written.
