Donkey Kong is the new champion of closest arcade clone ever done on the Coco... because it is the arcade game. John Kowalski, who came up with the 3D algorithm used in Nick Marentes' Gate Crasher game, hand translated the original Z80 code from the arcade to 6809 code, and then wrote hardware emulation routines to emulate the original graphics and sound hardware. Thus, the entire original arcade game is there - background sound/music, all intermissions, attract mode, etc. The only slight change is to compress the vertical # of pixels for the graphics (from the arcade original's 240 to the Coco 3's maximum of 225). This is the most ambitious game done on the Coco 3 yet.
