I've got a bit of an odd request. :^) I'm an Amiga user; 68040 based machine, you may (or may not) be familiar with it. A favorite processor of mine has always been the 6809; I used to own various bus level systems, and I've designed a few into machines myself - done just tons of ASM programming for the '09, too. Well, one of my little projects has been to create a 6809 emulator - and as of this morning, it seems to be up and running 100%. The environment is simple - the '09 memory space, rom emulation, ram emulation and very limited device emulation (a 6850 ACIA to be precise). That's enough to do many things, among which are run flex or OS-9, given a system monitor and disk hardware emulation. I'm up to the emulation - what I'm looking for is a copy of Psymon or some other '09 monitor - I've got it running "Assist09", the monitor in the Motorola manual, just fine, but frankly, it stinks. :^) So, anyone have any ideas? I have Psymon for the SWTP 6809. I think it is Rom. If that is any help let me know. I still have the old SWTP machine. I never got OS9 to run on it. I always had hopes. Fm: blackbelt 76004,1771 To: Tom Carey 71501,1544 That would be a huge help - in fact, how would you like to sell that SWTP, with goodies and etc? I'll be happy to swap some $$$ for it; DO you have Flex for it, or something else? We can carry this on EMAIL, that would be fine with me. CIS always seems to come through, doesn't it - I love this network, it's the best there is, period, end of story (and I do tech support for our company on BIX, the Internet, Portal, our own company BBS and Genie... At long last I've got a computer set up at my new apartment here in Denver, and will be able to log in every night again. I'll also finally be able to send out replies and disks ... that came just before I moved a couple of months ago. Apologies for the delay! Gee, it's good to have a system at home again!!! I'm usually here by 8pm Mountain time, and up until about 11pm. Much shorter hours than before . Work, work, work :-) You'd like the system we're building at work: dual 68040 machines, each with an additional four 68000's to handle comms with a couple of hundred 68000-based gaming terminals (each terminal uses a 34010 for gfx). The 68040's are running OS-9... might later have the terminals do so as well. I left North Carolina in such a rush that I forget to send you that SWTPC box, of course. But I'll be back there in a few weeks for a short time, and I'll grab it then. cheers - kev #: 17442 S11/OS9/6809 (Non-CoCo) 26-Jan-93 19:57:44 Sb: #17436-send 6309 disks Fm: Bob van der Poel 76510,2203 To: Kevin Darling 76703,4227 (X) Hi stranger...welcome home. #: 18054 S11/OS9/6809 (Non-CoCo) 06-May-93 20:16:09 Sb: #SMOKE SIG BDCTG & XMODE Fm: DOUG 72667,1433 To: all Hi all, Haven't been able to get on the forum as often as I'd like... I kinda figured that they went under (they refused to seel their soul to DOS, I imagine). I never did get into level II -- although I still have some SSB hardware that used to run FLEX and SSB DOS. What applications to you use your 6809 for? SSB never offered Xmode. I have a copy which I got out of the CoCo Level II utility set. It seems to run properly on my SSB system although I do not use it a lot so have not given it a through test. SSB was around at least through Fall 1985 when I met its president at a Microware seminar. I tried to call it a year or so later and found the phone had been disconnected. That is the last I heard of the company. It was never very big and got rolled over by Big Blue. (Before it left, it flirted with a 68000 system running Regulus, a UNIX knock off.) I have two SSB Level II machines. One has died with some mysterious memory problem. The other I use daily at my law office for two users. We use it for work processing and legal time accounting. It continues to be solid as a rock and about as heavy. It is good to know there are a other SSB users around. I figured we must be an extinct breed. (There are, however, several ex-users on here from time to time.) Ken #: 18418 S11/OS9/6809 (Non-CoCo) 15-Jul-93 11:21:54 Sb: Microbench 6809 Dev. Sy. What we are trying to do is set up a software development facility that is PC based, but can readily use source code that was developed on our parent company's system. Any suggestions would be welcomed. Thanks, Paul
